FAQs

What areas do you provide photography to?

I am located in Bradenton, but will travel to Sarasota, St. Petersburg, Tampa, Myakka, Parrish, & Venice. I will HAPPILY travel anywhere, but there will be a travel fee depending on how far away.

What type of photography do you offer?

  • Equine (black backgrounds, horse & rider and horse portraits)

  • Events (horse shows, tournaments, etc.)

  • Weddings

  • Portraits (focusing on Anna Maria Island & Longboat Key)

  • Commercial and Real Estate

  • Mini Unicorns

Do you use natural light or flash?

I use both natural light & flash photography depending on the lighting situation of each photoshoot. This allows the shots I get to be versatile and also allows me to get the shots promised without being solely reliant on how much the shine is shining on any given day.

What is your style of photography?

I tend to steer towards a photo-journalistic style, but still ensure that you are getting your standard posed photos as well. I understand that people have different tastes, and deliver variety within your online gallery you will receive. If you prefer a certain style (i.e. moody, bright & airy, etc.) please let me know ahead of time. I like to deliver a classic and timeless style, with elevated colors to accentuate the surrounding we are in.

How many outfits can I wear?

Depending on the amount of time you book with me, you can have as many outfit changes you can fit in. An hour session usually allows 2 outfit changes with enough time to get the shots needed.

What if my session runs over or if I’m late?

It’s very important to be on time for photoshoots, as I plan our start time in order to get ample lighting. Your session will start at the time agreed regardless, but if you running late I promise I will do my best to get the shots most important to you in the remaining time.

If you’d like to continue your session after our scheduled end time, there will be a $150/half hour charge added to your balance (portrait photography only.)

What should I wear?

Make sure to choose something you feel confident and comfortable in. If you are planning a shoot with a large family, coordinating colors & patterns is key. Try to have your outfits go together instead of having matching outfits.

For equine photography, you can choose to have a more elegant feel to your photos by choosing flowy & bold colors (think reds, dark blues, greens), or more casual by choosing riding attire or jeans and a cute blouse. It totally is up to you in what you feel comfortable in, and what type of feeling you want to portray in your photographs.

Where can I print my photos?

I will always have options to print from my preferred professional lab when you receive your gallery. These prints will be 100% guaranteed to be to your satisfaction.

That being said, once your gallery is delivered, you can download your digitals and print at your own discretion. Please keep in mind I cannot take responsibility for these prints whether it be color errors, cropping errors, or printer errors.

If you choose to print on your own, I recommend Mpix for prints and other items. For framed canvases and wood prints, SMALLWOODS is a great option.

What if it looks like rain?

Living in Florida, we are used to pop up storms in the evenings. I will always keep a close eye on the weather and we will reschedule if the conditions look bad. Sometimes the sun comes out with a beautiful sky, so if it’s partly cloudy or a small chance of rain, I like to take a chance as long as the client is ok with it. If we have to reschedule, your deposit will be applied to your new date.

How much of a deposit do you require?

For portrait sessions, I normally require a $50 deposit. This is non-refundable. Due to the current state of everything, I absolutely understand if you need to move your event or photoshoot to a different time and date. I try my best to stay flexible. This deposit can be moved to your rescheduled date.

For weddings, I require 25% of your total balance. This is also non-refundable and transferrable.

When can we do my photoshoot? How do I book with you?

I have an availability calendar that I keep up to date. After you choose a date and time, I will contact you via email to confirm & to send a deposit invoice and contract. Please text, call, or email any questions or details. If you have somewhere specific in mind, we can do the photoshoot at that location, or I can give suggestions if needed!

You can view my calendar here: https://jessicabuehlerphotography.as.me/

What is the best time to schedule a shoot?

My favorite time to shoot is in the evening, about an hour before sunset depending on how long you would like your session to be. If you cannot do evenings, we can make anytime work, but mornings are my second choice for lighting.

Where should I do my shoot?

Think about what type of location you would like to photos to be in, whether it be in a park with a lot of greenery, the beach, or an urban location. I have recommendations for all but am open to new places! Keep in mind that some locations, especially botanical gardens and museum grounds require additional fees. The client is responsible for any fees on top of the price of the photo session.

I’m awkward and don’t know how to pose!

Great news for you! I’m awkward too! We can be awkward together!

But in all seriousness, my job is to make you look good. I want you to feel comfortable so you can let you emotions show in your images, and not the fact that you don’t know what to do with your hands. I’m here to help, and I promise the photos you end up with will be beautiful.
