Macro Eye of a Horse

I love equine photography. Every shoot is different. It all depends on what the horse gives you that day.

On this particular day, Rollsie gave me complete stillness. He gave me peace, he gave me time.

He’s a great horse, goofy and sweet. The kind of horse that will nuzzle you when you get close. Also the kind of horse who will make you scratch his face and rub his eyes anytime you offer him your hand.

One morning he didn’t have hay in his stall when I brought him in, so he waited until I came back from getting the next horse, and SCREAMED at me until I went over to his stall. I noticed he didn’t have hay, so I grabbed a flake and threw it in for him. He moved his neck towards me and nuzzled up to me as to say “thank you.”

If that doesn’t tell you that horses have and show emotion, then I don’t know what will.
